The city of Kathmandu is full of museums and galleries where one can experience the rich tradition and culture of Nepal. The art of painting especially, best reflects the pure abundance of scenic natural landscapes and contemporary symbolic and non-symbolic compositions of Nepal. A visit to the art galleries of Kathmandu is a pleasurable and rewarding experience.
There are many reasons to visit such museums as they create an underlying sense of history. Museums and Galleries are not exactly the essence of art collections but they display a vast collection of works, woodcarvings as well. One can find large collection of weapons as well as arts and antiquities of historic and cultural importance, initially built as a collection house of war trophies and weapons.
