Special Travel Care
Trekking in Nepal mountains requires a certain level of physical fitness and stamina. Hiking up, going down or even walking for a long time becomes strenuous for someone who’s used to sedentary western lifestyle. The heart, lungs, leg & abdomen muscles, as well as the knee & ankle joints work very hard during a trek trip. Your GP would advise you to go through some basic examinations before involving in any vigorous exercise.

The diversity in everything makes Nepalis are generally tolerant of others’ ways. However, sex is still a taboo subject in all cultures in Nepal. Baring one’s body in the public especially by the women is considered indecent behavior. Similarly, one’s expected to put off the shoes before entering the room. Public display of affection like kissing & hugging is also avoided.

Altitude Sickness & Acclimatization: Every rise you make in the high mountain trails to gain a new exciting perspective also requires you to make friends with the nature. Medically, for trekkers, making friendship with nature means acclimatizing your body to high altitudes.

Rafting Guidelines: Use caution and common sense at all times in the out of doors, especially near the river. River currents can be very strong. Be aware that the rocks along water's edge are often slippery.
Domestic Air Services: Nepal airlines (NA), formerly Royal Nepal Airlines (RA), has an extensive network of air service in the interior parts of Nepal. Private companies also operate helicopter services for rescue, sling operations, transporting heavy cargo and food grains, aerial photography, sightseeing, helitrekking and heli skiing.

Long Distance Bus Service: The public bus service is a great way to get acquainted with the local life. However, luxury bus services, which are extremely comfortable and much faster, are also available from Kathmandu to Pokhara and Chitwan. Most buses from Kathmandu to other parts of Nepal leave from the Gongabu Bus Park located on the Ring Road on the north side of the town. Some buses leave from the old bus park near Tudikhel and others from Gaushala near Pashupatinath.
